WHO ARE CANADIAN RESIDENTS:

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Motion for Final Approval of Settlement and Motion for Award of Attorneys’ Fees and Costs hearing previously set for September 10, 2009 has been rescheduled for September 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.

This is the website for the class action settlement in Ronald Smith & Assocs., Inc. v. Intuit Canada and Intuit Inc., Court File No. 08-CV-348111 CP (Ontario Superior Court of Justice).

The action was certified as a class action in Canada on March 12, 2009. The first notice to Canadian users of QuickBooks® Pro 2006 for Mac and QuickBooks® Pro 2006 New User Edition was sent by registered mail and e-mail (where possible) on Friday, March 20, 2009.

The settlement approval hearing took place on Thursday, May 21, 2009 in Toronto. The settlement agreement was approved and a second notice was sent to users of the software by registered mail and e-mail (where possible) on June 2, 2009.

NOTE: The deadline to submit a claim form has expired. Potential class members had until August 31, 2009 to complete and file a claim form with the Independent Claims Administrator.
